Attorney Nicholas Ellis is a New Englander and long time fan of the New England Patriots.
He has been with them through the highs and lows, never wavering in support. While recent events and injuries have put the Patriots in a challenging position, Attorney Nicholas Ellis remains confident in a great upcoming season.
The Patriots enter Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans at 2-0 following a 31-24 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The game could be a costly one for the Patriots, as Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went down late in the second quarter with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder.
Garoppolo was stellar up to that point, shredding the Miami defense on 18-of-27 passing for 234 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns went to Danny Amendola, the other to Martellus Bennett. Garoppolo has completed 42-of-60 for 498 yards and four touchdowns, without an interception. Tom Brady would be impressed with such numbers, showing how well Garoppolo has played. Attorney Nicholas Ellis agrees with experts saying that this guys certainly has a bright future in the NFL.
Garoppolo is listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game, but could be suited up as the backup to Jacoby Brissett, the rookie out of NC State. Brissett completed 6-of-9 for 92 yards on Sunday after Garoppolo went down.
Attorney Nicholas Ellis believes that Brissett could have a difficult time agianst a tough Houston defense, but it apperas no matter who is under center, the Patriots find a way score points. They can rely on LeGarrette Blount, who rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, to take pressure off of Brissett. Brissett will get a huge boost if Rob Gronkowski returns from a hamstring injury that has sidelined him the first two weeks.
While the Patriots definitely could defeat the Texans, it will not be a surprise if they drop this one with a rookie quarterback at the helm under the bright lights of a Thursday night game. Having said that, a win is a good possibility against the Bills the following week with either Brissett or Garoppolo under center.
Expect a 3-1 start when Brady returns and all will be well in New England as the season progresses.
